How Apprenticeship Grants Work

If you’re looking to take on an apprentice then yes you should be able to get an apprenticeship grant.

There are hundreds of apprenticeship providers. The apprenticeship provider will set up your apprenticeship scheme, find you suitable applicants and train your chosen apprentice. They will cover all the details regarding payment of the apprenticeship grant.

The grant for taking on an apprentice has increased. If you take on an apprentice from 1 August 2020 – 31 Jan 2021, businesses will be given £2,000 for each new apprentice they hire under the age of 25, and £1500 for every new Apprentice over the age of 25.

Note this is in addition to the £1000 already available when taking on a 16-18 year old apprentice.
